Dane Dennington Seaver

Dane Seaver is a bilingual (Oral English/ASL) Deaf college student who brings his insight as a mainstreamed public school student and deaf child in a hearing family to groups who seek a better understanding of communication access and self advocacy for the deaf and hard of hearing.  In 2007, he addressed the 18th Congress on Deafness in the Philippines and led workshops on self-advocacy for deaf and hard of hearing youth in that country. 

Dane is the winner of the 2006 Colorado Optimists ASL Communication Contest.  He was named “Renaissance Scholar” in 10th grade, and was the recipient of the 2005 Ron Brewer Strength of Character Award from Thomas Jefferson High School, Denver, Colorado.  He was selected as a “Mile High Scholar” by Denver Mayor Wellington Webb in 2002.  Dane is currently a university student at NTID/RIT in Rochester, New York.
