Getting to the Conference via AIRPORTS

The closest airport is Reno at a 45 minute shuttle ride from the airport to Northstar.

If Reno is too expensive the next closest is Sacramento.  The best way to get to the resort would be to rent a car and drive which is about an 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hour drive.  People could easily carpool if flying into Sacramento around the same time.
