How to Get a Deaf Child Sign on your Street
By Shyanne Richardson Have you wondered how to get a Deaf Child sign placed on your street. Here's how. Deaf Child signs are posted to make drivers aware that there is a deaf child in the area and proceed with caution. This doesn't slow every driver down, nor is it a guarantee of your child's safety, however, it will bring neighborhood awareness.
Here are 5 easy steps to get you started.
- To qualify your child must be 16 years or younger.
- You will need to get a letter from your child's physician stating that your child is Deaf or Hearing Impaired.
- Call your cities Traffic Engineer or Public Works Department (some phone numbers are listed below).
- If you live in WESTMINSTER , you will need to have your neighbors sign a petition.
- It can take up to 5 weeks for the signs to be posted.
