Family Leadership in Language & Learning (FL3)

Karen Putz explains briefly in ASL what the new FL3 project is all about. The transcript of her message is below.

Hi I’m Karen Putz I’m the Co-Director of

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infusion

At Hands and Voices

We have a new project

I’m excited to introduce this new project

It’s called Family Leadership in Language and Learning

It’s abbreviated to FL3

So what is FL3?

The FL3 project focuses on

families with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

and Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults and includes them

in the early intervention system in every state

The FL3 has five goals

Number one: Families with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children

And organizations serving families with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children

Are partners in early intervention in every state

Number two:  Support families in becoming leaders in the early intervention system

Number three: Increase family to family support

Number four: Families will increase their knowledge of language, literacy, and

Social emotional development for children

Number five: Increase Deaf and Hard of Hearing involvement in early intervention system using mentors, guides, and role models
