Susan Elliott, MA

An engaging and uniquely qualified presenter, Susan Elliott shares her unique perspective as a Deaf individual and award-winning educator on a range of topics, notably our Hands & Voices Deaf Cultural Sensitivity Training workshop.

Elliott is received her master's in Deaf Education at Gallaudet University and has since taught in public school programs at every level in Colorado.  In 1981 she received her second masters in Educational Administration and Supervision through the National Leadership Training Program at California State University , Northridge.  She is a strong political advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and has been active in the successful passage of legislation designed to improve communication access, education, and quality of life.  Mrs. Elliott is presently teaching and coordinating a center based program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Douglas County, Colorado. As a member of the Gallaudet University Board of Trustees, she chairs the Committee on National Deaf Education.  Mrs. Elliott also chairs the Colorado Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and serves on the Board of Directors for Hands and Voices National.

In 2004 Mrs, Elliott was inducted to the National Hall of Fame for Persons with Disabilities.
